Hand & Wrist Physical Therapy

Mobile PT Tailored for Queens and Neighboring Communities

The wrist is a complex joint formed by eight small bones arranged in two rows, connecting the forearm to the hand. These bones are supported by tough ligaments, which link the wrist bones to the forearm and hand bones, while tendons attach muscles to bones. Damage to any part of the wrist can result in pain and impact hand and wrist functionality. Common causes of wrist pain include:

Common Conditions We Treat:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – Nerve compression in the wrist causing numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hand

  • De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis – Inflammation of tendons in the thumb leading to pain and swelling

  • Trigger Finger (Stenosing Tenosynovitis) – Finger stiffness and locking due to inflamed tendons

  • Wrist Tendinitis – Irritation of tendons from repetitive motions, leading to pain and swelling

  • Arthritis (Osteoarthritis/Rheumatoid Arthritis) – Joint pain and stiffness due to cartilage degeneration or inflammation

  • Fracture & Post-Surgical Rehabilitation – Recovery from wrist, hand, or finger fractures or surgical procedures

Our Approach to Hand & Wrist Pain Relief: We focus on restoring dexterity, grip strength, and joint mobility to reduce pain and improve function. Our treatments may include:

  • Manual Therapy – Hands-on techniques to improve mobility and reduce stiffness

  • Grip & Dexterity Training – Strengthening exercises to restore fine motor control and function

  • Splinting & Joint Protection Strategies – Supporting injured areas while allowing proper movement

  • What should you expect at your first physical therapy visit?
During your first visit, your therapist will discuss your symptoms, injury, health history, and recovery goals. A thorough evaluation will assess posture, muscle strength, flexibility, joint mobility, and soft tissue health. Based on the results, your therapist will create a personalized treatment plan and at-home exercise program, guiding you through each exercise to ensure proper technique.
  • What do I need to wear for my initial appointment?
Wear comfy, loose-fitting clothes and a pair of rubber-soled sneakers—something that lets you move around easily and comfortably!
  • Should I bring any X-rays and MRI reports with me?
Yes! Please bring any X-rays, MRI reports, or medical records to your first visit for a more accurate evaluation. Also, bring your therapy prescription, if you have one, and be ready to complete some basic paperwork.
  • Who do I contact for billing and insurance questions?
